From the front page of the Sarasota Herald-Tribune: Abuses of the elder guardianship system documented in recent Herald-Tribune articles are prompting local court officials to consider creating a new oversight position. AAAPG – Looking ahead

With successful passage of our signature bill into law today by Gov. Rick Scott, Florida becomes a leader on the road to guardianship reform. This is a wonderful development but it is only a first step. Our experience informs the reality the judges can ignore new laws the same way they ignored old laws. AAAPG will now focus on our agenda for the coming year.
