AAAPG – Looking ahead

With successful passage of our signature bill into law today by Gov. Rick Scott, Florida becomes a leader on the road to guardianship reform. This is a wonderful development but it is only a first step. Our experience informs the reality the judges can ignore new laws the same way they ignored old laws. AAAPG will now focus on our agenda for the coming year.

In addition to working with legislative leaders on passing an even more effective series of reform measures, we will endeavor to vastly expand our advocacy imperative by developing services and programs that will help document the national plagued abuses in Guardianhip that have affected our members from coast to coast.  We will endeavor to develop a database to collect information that has heretofore been unavailable to anyone. That database will lead to effective analysis study and understanding of guardianship abuses across the country. That knowledge will lead us to effective interventions, greater recognition of the problem and our expertise and the ability to create legitimate data for the purpose of assisting individuals and the greater community of guardianship victims.

It will be more important than ever for each member can become involved in our efforts with greater volunteerism and commitments of time for our all volunteer organization. please volunteer, especially when you are asked to help.

We look forward to more successes that will ultimately bring hope and comfort to so many victims of this horrible criminal abuse.
