Guardianship News:

Reason for a little optimism

The burgeoning scope of the guardianship abuse racket is evident in the number of calls that come in on a regular basis to AAAPG daily.

The stories are all the same. Family discord leads to court intervention and abuse by guardians and especially lawyers with a wink wink from Judges and soon the estate is plundered, the ward tortured and the family disinherited and ruined.

Taking these calls is extremely depressing because there is so little that can be done to help. On these pages we have supplied  some intructions http://aaapg.net/report-ward-abuse-florida/  that are helpful, but historically have not been effective at the state level because of intitutional bias,  inertia and plain old misconceptions in government circles about the  cuases and severity of this crisis.

That may be about to change. Senator Chuck Grassley along with

have brought Senate Bill

S.3270 — 114th Congress (2015-2016)

Our member Rick Black just spend days in D.C. valiantly pushing for Guardianship Reform legislation. In part because of his efforts, we now have a real possibility of actually having federal legislation that would for the first time provide Federal oversight on elder abuse and Guardianship.

You are urged to read it in its entirety. Members are going to have to mount a letter writing campaign to help push this bill into law.

Kudos to Rick Black in Nevada. More to come
