Tennessee: Woman battles unintended consequences of conservatorship bill

WARNING: It has become commonplace for states to pass laws that specifically allow hospitals, nursing homes, and other institutions providing in-patient (medical) care to put their patients under guardianship so that they control their patient’s estate and can then pay themselves for any patient bills that the institution generates. Nevada: Helen Natko convicted in guardianship abuse case

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) – A jury has convicted a Las Vegas woman who was the subject of a Contact 13 Investigation for crimes in a guardianship case. Helen Natko was found guilty of theft and exploitation of a vulnerable person. The victim was her long-time companion Del Mencarelli who passed away in July 2015.
