June 7, 2015 // 0 Comments

This Wednesday 6-10-15 Florida Governor Rick Scott will hold a special (and rare) signing ceremony for our signature legislation in his office at 4PM. This new law is the most far reaching attempt at Guardianship reform in decades. AAAPG is deeply honored and grateful to our good friends in the legislature who helped us convince the Legislature that Florida has a huge problem with Abusive Guardianship– especially Kathleen Passidomo and Miguel Diaz de la Portilla and Nancy Detert. AAAPG – Looking ahead

June 3, 2015 // 0 Comments

With successful passage of our signature bill into law today by Gov. Rick Scott, Florida becomes a leader on the road to guardianship reform. This is a wonderful development but it is only a first step. Our experience informs the reality the judges can ignore new laws the same way they ignored old laws. AAAPG will now focus on our agenda for the coming year. In addition to working with legislative leaders on passing an even more effective series of reform measures, we will endeavor to vastly [- more...]

It hasn’t been easy for those abusive guardians. Think about all the work they have to do to rape an estate, isolate award from his family, make sure doctors appropriately poison their wards with atypical anti-psychotics so they become drooling vegetables unable to complain, pushing endless litigation against family members and making it all look just so clean and simple and legal! Guardians have to be very clever and crafty, so we’d like to report on some of the most incredible [- more...]
